Program Fee

Long-term success to gastric bypass surgery requires preoperative and postoperative education, support and follow-up care.

Our program offers professionals who provide you with educational and emotional support to reach your goals. The application fee of $300 is required prior to scheduling surgery. The benefits of the Program Fee are:

Support group
We encourage all patients to participate in our monthly support group for a minimum of one year. Patients who attend support groups achieve a higher weight loss and greater general satisfaction.

Application processing
Our staff will review and evaluate your application to help determine your health issues and the appropriateness of pursuing surgery. We determine if we need more records or if you may need more tests or medical consults.

Interactive website access
The site allows you to send your application electronically, and has much information to assist you in your pursuit of improved health. The site also has online forums and secure messaging.

Insurance application processing
Our staff will identify records, information, medical support letters and any other items needed by insurance or Medicare. When the information has been gathered, we submit your request for surgery to your insurance, which often requires several submissions and frequent telephone contact.

Patient education class
This educational class for the person scheduled for surgery allows for questions and answers, pre- and postoperative instruction, and interaction with other people at a similar stage in the process.

Follow up appointments
Included in the program fee are scheduled appointments with your surgeon and staff nurse at one week, one month, three months, six months and at one year post-op for the first year. These appointments include nutritional assessment, medicine review, blood lab work monitoring at six and twelve months post-op (not included in the program fee), medical monitoring of your weight loss and ongoing education.

RN on Call
A dedicated bariatric RN is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for your questions and concerns.
