Life Flight

Life Flight of St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana offers rotor wing, fixed wing and ground transport for adult and pediatric medical and trauma patients.

Life Flight has been in operation for 27 years, since 1981. The medical crew members are very experienced, averaging over 8 years of service with this program. All of the Life Flight nurses have advanced Critical Care certification, and all of the Life Flight Paramedics are certified at the Critical Care Level or CCEMT-P.

In 2001, Life Flight became the first air ambulance program in Montana to be certified by CAMTS, the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Services.

Life Flight transports around 800 patients each year. In 2007, 406 patients were transported by helicopter, 312 patients were transported by airplane, and 53 patients were transported by ground ambulance. Life Flight transported patients from 107 scene calls including motor vehicle crashes, horse accidents, rafting accidents and hiking accidents.
