St. Patrick Hospital and the International Heart Institute's Evalve Clinical Trial makes news! Patient Ken Franklin recently underwen t a new form of heart surgery developed by the International Heart Institute. After being denied medical funds by Medicare the surgeons of the International Heart Institute fought to find payment for Ken's treatment.

Tom Schussler, Director of Facilities and Tim Chopp, Manager of Facilities En gineering at St. Pat's were recently honored as a BetterBricks Finalists in the Owner/Decision Maker category. The BetterBricks Awards salute the individuals in the Northwest leading the way for high performance commercial buildings with an emphasis on energy efficiency. Tom and Tim were recognized for their energy efficient achievements within the Providence St. Patrick’s Hospital and ongoing efforts for sustainable facilities management.

Safeway donated $15,000 to the St. Patrick Hospital and Health Foundation. The money was raised in support of breast cancer by the employees of two local Safeway stores and the Missoula community. Thank you Safeway!

Montana Spine and Pain Center
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) an eight week program will be offered for graduates of the Pain School at the Montana Spine and Pain Center. The program teaches four foundational practices that have been shown to reduce stress, improve quality of life and benefit people with a variety of physical problems. Quit for Life
Quit smoking or chewing for the last time. Come to our Quit for Life series of classes. A new series sections begins in June. Class dates are June 4, 8, 10, 15 and 17. Classes will be held from 5:30 - 7 pm at St. Patrick Hospital, Providence Center, Main Level Group Room. The cost for the five-class series is $40 and includes a free one week supply of nicotine gum or patches to help relieve cravings. To register, please call 329.5740.
