Please help us protect your health. Effectively immediately, St. Patrick Hospital and Health Sciences Center are now restricting visitation by children aged 14 and under in patient care areas. This young population is particularly vulnerable to the H1N1 infection. Children seeking medical care are still permitted on premise and will be asked to wear a mask if exhibiting flu-like symptoms. Families with special situations, such as a gravely ill family member, may contact the nursing supervisor to arrange for special visitation. Thank you for your cooperation.

The St. Patrick Hospital Breast Center has been awarded a three-year full accreditation from October 2009 through October 2012 from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). Accreditation by the NAPBC is only given to those centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance. Receiving care at a NAPBC-accredited center ensures that a patient will have access to:

H1N1 Flu & Seasonal Flu Information:
What can you do to stay healthy? Stay informed. The Center for Disease Control nd Prevention (CDC) website http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/ updates information regularly as it becomes available. Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing of infected people. Take the following everyday actions to stay healthy:
- Cover your nose & mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after used.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.
- Stay home if you get sick. CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from spreading infection.
- Find healthy ways to deal with stress.
- Follow public health advice regarding school closures avoiding crowds and other social distancing measures.

On July 11, 2009 over 120 people turned out to play in St. Patrick Hospital and Health Foundation's 10th Annunal Golf Tournament. Hosted at the King Ranch Golf Course in Frenchtown, with a St. Patrick's Day in July theme, the tournament had 31 teams and raised $18,000 for the Foundation's Patient Compassion Fund! Patient Ken Franklin recently underwent t a new form of heart procedure within a clinical trial offered by the International Heart Institute. After being denied medical funds by Medicare the surgeons of the International Heart Institute fought to find payment for Ken's treatment.

Free Depression Screenings
The Providence Center located at 902 N. Orange St. will be offering free depression screenings, Thursday, Nov. 19 from 11:30 am - 3 pm. No registration is required. Screenings will be provided by Nuero Behavioral Medicine located at the back of the Providence Center, off N 2nd Street.

Team Up. Reach Out. Give Back.
Team Up Montana was recently created by St. Patrick Hospital and Health Sciences Center, St. Joseph Medical Center, Missoulian, University of Montana, KPAX and the St. Patrick Hospital and Health Foundation to raise cancer awareness and funding. Each year Team Up Montana will be focusing on a specific cancer, starting this year with breast cancer awareness at the University of Montana against Eastern Washington on October 17. Montana Spine and Pain Center
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) an eight week program will be offered for graduates of the Pain School at the Montana Spine and Pain Center. The program teaches four foundational practices that have been shown to reduce stress, improve quality of life and benefit people with a variety of physical problems. Healthy Back and Bones Class
